Emily is an amazing creator. As a new shop owner, I'm so lucky to have her for advice and inspiration. She's not afraid to be real with people, and you can tell from her page that she really wants to get personal with and get to know her customers. I love how hard she works to create pieces for her customers, and keeps them in mind in everything she does.

Please, go show her some love on her instagram @forestavenue fixtures and check out her etsy link here! You won't regret it :) And read below to learn all about her and her awesome shop!

Q. Hey Emily! Thanks so much for taking this time for us. Can you tell us a little bit about your shop and the things you create?

A. We sell rustic woodworking and decor pieces. We got started when we purchased our first home in 2017 and ended up making a mirror and headboard because we couldn’t find ones that we liked within our price range. A few months later after some encouragement from friends and family, we started Forest Avenue Fixtures to keep creating rustic pieces and to provide affordable options to others!

Q. I love your name! It's super creative and fits the theme of your store really well. How did you choose it?

A. It’s the name of our street and will always have a place in our hearts as our first home whether or not we end up moving!

Q. You have such a great range of products in your shop. What's your favorite one to create?

A. The Mountain Shelf- it’s unique and nature themed.

Q. What are some goals you've set for yourself recently? Personal, and professional. A.Personal- compassion and kindness, it’s easy when you’re busy and stressed to become shortsighted or irritated with others, I’m working to avoid that.

(editor's note: I feel this so much. What a great goal to have!)

Professionally, as far as Forest Ave goes, my goal is to come up with a few new items to add to our collection over the next few months, and to keep growing, of course!

Q. One last question, what's one thing you want your customers to know about you?

A. I had no prior woodworking experience, persistence and willingness to learn has been key.

Check out some of her amazing pieces below! I love her mountain shelves. I can see why she likes them so much!!
