Hi there! I love you instagram page. It's inspiring, not only as a travel bug, but also as someone doing long distance. For those reading this who don't follow you, can you introduce yourselves?
Hi, we're Nic and Clara. We're 10,686km (6,640 miles) apart.
Wow. That's a long ways apart! How did you two meet?
We met in Vienna during a summer study program in July 2017!
Do you get to visit often? How do you spend visits?
Once every couple months for a few months (its pretty sporadic). We travel, eat, drink.... Just explorw new places and learn new things!
What's been the hardest thing about being so far apart?
Everything! hahahah just kidding. The hardest is finding ways to feel close when you can't have that physical connection.
What's the best thing about long distance?
We've learned that the long distance is less important than having someone who truly matters to you. It's better having someone that's far away and truly cares, than someone who is around all the time that can't understand how much the small things mean.
What habits/traditions keep your relationship strong?
Sending voice messages every night before we sleep so the we can either fall asleep having heard the other's voice or wake up to it. Also, we try to say one thing we love about the other when we say good night.
Thank you so much for taking this time! We'll close out with on last question: what's one piece of advice you have for other couples doing long distance?
DON'T! Again, kidding... Always remember how the other person made you feel when you were together - that feeling always returns when you see each other again!
